Listener Q&A:

What To Do About Very Tight Muscles…51:30

Boomer asks: Pretty much all the muscles in my body are incredibly tense and tight, which has led to constant discomfort and continuous joint issues. This started when I was 15, and I’m 28 now. I foam roll and stretch every day, eat mainly organic whole foods, and have supplemented with magnesium which did not work. Do you have any ideas on what could be wrong, and what I could be doing differently?

In my response, I recommend:

Do Face Masks Cause Oxygen Deprivation?…1:07:25

Liz asks: I love all the great information you share on the podcast about breathwork. I’m 61 years old and I just started back to work at a mammogram office front desk. I’m required to wear a face mask all day, which is absolutely exhausting. I know I’m not drinking enough water because of the mask, and I felt that I was low on oxygen. How can I better take care of myself in this situation?

In my response, I recommend:

Why You Feel The Weather In Your Body…1:15:30

Mike asks: In general, how do people feel the weather in their body? A good example is those who get migraines right before a thunderstorm. Is it the pressure? A measurable change in blood sugar, and then they feel relief once the weather changes? How can someone be less sensitive to changes in the weather?

In my response, I recommend:

Should You Put A Joovv Light In An Infrared Sauna?…1:18:50

Rob asks: I’m going to get a Clearlight Sauna for infrared therapy, and I’m wondering if I should supplement that with a Joovv device?

In my response, I recommend:

Dr. Steven Gundry talks all about POOP

There’s a big mistake that most doctors make with their patients: We NEVER talk about poop.

That’s because this one topic can make people feel embarrassed, uncomfortable, and maybe even a little bit sick.

But poop is incredibly important for your health.

That’s why on today’s episode of The Dr. Gundry Podcast, I’m talking poop!

You’re going to hear answers to questions you might have always wondered about — but were too embarrassed to ask. So if you want to know what poop is made of, what healthy poop looks like, and why “floaters” are a sign of bad health, then you need to tune in to this episode.

I’m also going to teach you the foods you need to eat for healthy bowel movements, which foods you MUST avoid, and why one popular leafy vegetable is like a “ticking time bomb” for diarrhea.

So even if this topic makes you a little squeamish, don’t skip this episode — believe me, your “gut buddies” will thank you later.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The TRUTH about what’s in your poop — and what it can tell you about your health (1:45)
  • My “anaconda” method for recognizing a healthy poop (4:15)
  • What “floating poop” says about your diet — you might be missing THIS (5:30)
  • The surprising reason why most people quickly lose 4-5 pounds on a 3-day water fast (6:45)
  • The “backyard toxin” that’s threatening your fragile gut bacteria (10:15)
  • Why eating this one “health food” is like “swallowing razor blades” (12:30)
  • What traditional Africans knew about diet and healthy eating that Westerners didn’t (14:00)
  • The REAL number of bowel movements you should be having every day (16:30)
  • 3 simple (and cheap) additions you can make to your diet for bigger, smoother bowel movements (18:15)
  • Why this one trendy vegetable is NOT your friend (22:30)
  • The crazy reason why poop can make a lean person fat and a fat person lean (28:45)
  • How “crapsules” could be a game changer for children on the autism spectrum (31:00)
  • A simple reason why you don’t actually need a “toilet stool” for proper pooping (35:00)
  • The brain-boosting nutrient that’s abundant in this controversial breakfast food (36:00)
  • Why you might never need toilet paper again (seriously!) (38:15)

The Plant Paradox

Human Microbiome Project

Denis Burkitt and the origins of the dietary fibre hypothesis

An Interview With A Child Prodigy

Meet 15-year-old prodigy, Daniel Bissonnette. This kid first turned my head when I saw him sitting cross-legged and meditating in his shorts on what appeared to be a giant frozen glacier in a social media post of his he tagged me in.

I looked into Daniel, and it turns out he’s a pretty impressive young man.

Daniel is currently listed as one of the World’s Top 100 Most Influential Vegans, the most in-demand health/nutrition youth keynote in the world, an award-winning activist, bestselling author, developer of the “GENIUS Mode” program, and host of the weekly YouTube “Daniel Bissonnette Show.”

Daniel has delivered hundreds of presentations since the age of 9 at conferences, expos, consumer shows, community groups, food companies, schools, institutes, and non-profit organizations and continues to make headlines today.

But, it all started out when Daniel was a bullied elementary school kid who wanted to help a few friends eat healthier.

In third grade, Daniel was approached by his teacher and decided to publicly speak about his food choices. Pleasantly surprised to see how many kids began trashing their junk food and switching to healthier alternatives, Daniel was encouraged to continue spreading the message and volunteered to speak at a global rally. Little did he know that his first public talk would go viral. It became the most-viewed YouTube video for the event that took place in 500 cities around the world with over 2M attendees!

From that moment on Daniel, began to speak on stages of leading health events across Canada, the US, and Europe. By the age of 11, he became a signature speaker with the largest health show franchise in Canada and published his bestselling book Daniel’s BREAKFAST Burst. With Daniel’s BREAKFAST Burst he was able to inspire more children around the world to eat a healthier breakfast than any other authority!

Daniel’s BREAKFAST Burst was such a hit that it was featured in popular magazines, radio, TV, and even purchased by Hollywood celebrities. It sure got kids and parents excited about eating their way to smarts too with over a month of carefully designed breakfast meals that deliver peak nutrition for mental performance. By 12 years old, Daniel was ranked in the World’s Top 100 Most Influential Vegans and joined the non-profit organization “Borneo Wildlife Preservation” to help raise funds and awareness to support reforestation and pygmy elephant conservation projects in Borneo. At 13, he was honored the Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion by Supreme Master Ching Hai and completed his long-anticipated “GENIUS Mode” program.

In his “GENIUS Mode – The Biology of Greatness” program and Biology Of Greatness, Daniel shares breakthrough science on a never before discussed topic—altering your DNA to become a genius. “There are ways we can go into our genetic code and rewrite it. Genius is something you CAN become because it’s a built-in mechanism and there’s an exact science to doing so!” says Daniel. He reveals his daily “hacks” you can use to increase brain power, intelligence, develop physical and mental resilience, and turn on your GENIUS expression.

During this discussion, you’ll discover:

-How Daniel became an authority on nutrition at such a young age…6:30

-How a bee sting led to an “aha” moment for Daniel…16:00

  • A teacher told Daniel that he “wasn’t gifted in anything”
  • Became aware that great thinkers (Einstein, Leonardo, Gandhi, etc.) were all very conscious of their diet
  • Hippocrates was a proponent of fasting as a reboot for the body
  • Family dinner has many unseen benefits (digestion, emotional state, etc.)
  • Got stung by a bee, and began asking the difference between a “worker” and a “queen” bee
    • Every larva in the hive is genetically a queen bee
    • They’re fed “bee bread” (pollen and honey)
    • The bee bread “turns off” the queen gene
    • What queen bee doesn’t eat is more important than what she does eat

-Biohacks and routines in Daniel’s life…24:20

  • After wakeup:
  • Alpha brain waves
  • Meditators create same frequency on both sides of the brain simultaneously while meditating
  • Three types of genius: analytical, emotional, creative
  • Schools teach neurons and the brain to fight each other

-Breath protocols and foods to remain in the parasympathetic state…37:30

-The value of keeping tabs on your poop…47:05

-Little known facts about iodine…54:00

-The remainder of Daniel’s routine…1:00:35

-How to alter your genius via epigenetics…1:06:00

-And much more!

32 Tips For Men And Women

Last year I spoke at an event called “A4M” in Las Vegas on how to increase testosterone naturally with no injections or hormone replacement protocols required.

I’m not against bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), but I do think one should explore as many natural alternatives as possible first. Or, for even more bang for the buck, pair BHRT with the tactics you’ll discover in this episode.

A4M, which stands for “The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine” is dedicated to the advancement of tools, technology, and transformations in healthcare that can detect, treat, and prevent diseases associated with aging. They promote the research of practices and protocols that have the potential to optimize the human aging process. The organization is also dedicated to educating healthcare professionals and practitioners, scientists, and members of the public on biomedical sciences, breakthrough technologies, and medical protocols through our advanced education entity: Metabolic Medical Institute (MMI). Their event in Vegas each year is, in my opinion, well worth checking out.

Recently, in two separate papers, testosterone therapy has gotten a bad rap (Testosterone and the Cardiovascular System: A Comprehensive Review of the Clinical Literature and Age-Related Low Testosterone), and been blamed as a culprit for coronary artery disease and stroke risk, but as I discuss in my podcast with Jay Campbell, this is simply not true. As a matter of fact, in Jay’s Testosterone Optimization Bible, he clearly lays out the research behind optimized testosterone levels improving heart health, optimizing cognitive function, combating Alzheimer’s disease, staving off bone loss, and much much more. My friend Carl Lanore also recently addressed some of this unfair testosterone vilification in Superhuman Radio episode #2451. Furthermore, as I explain in the introduction to this podcast, I recently began to use microdoses of testosterone cream (compounded by Dr. Craig Koniver) in the morning and evening to simulate the natural diurnal release of testosterone, and have noted a profound impact in my own energy levels and recovery (although this is not a strategy I endorse as a “band-aid” but instead the icing-on-the-cake for males in their late 30’s and beyond once all other foundational practices I outline in this podcast are established). Incidentally, my wife is now using progesterone from Dr. Koniver for similar purposes.

In this episode, I will review the key biomarkers for achieving peak male health, along with the most potent and effective practices for optimizing biological variables for men’s fertility and longevity. I will also unveil a host of little-known biohacks proven to enhance or restore peak testosterone and drive, along with how to practically implement a blend of ancestral wisdom and modern science to amplify sexual performance.

You’ll discover a multimodal approach to optimizing male sexual performance, learn how to identify key biomarkers to assess male health and get the best ancient practices and modern scientific strategies that enhance or restore men’s fertility and longevity.

Oh, and by the way, women need testosterone too, and all these tactics will work for the ladies as well.

In this episode, you’ll learn…

-Research I’ve encountered since I last spoke on this topic on the podcast…2:00

  • Microdosing (transdermal application) testosterone cream (code BEN2020 at checkout to receive 15% off our products)
    • Simulates diurnal increase of testosterone (vs. a sudden increase via an injection)
    • Overseen by a knowledgeable doc
    • Morning and evening small amount of cream (not gel)
    • Working w/ Dr. Craig Koniver

-How to increase testosterone naturally with working out…12:43

Lift heavy stuff

Use long rest periods

Do forced reps

Use your legs

Avoid chronic cardio

-Notoriously missing nutrients that drastically affect testosterone levels…21:46

-How to increase testosterone naturally with herbs…32:39

-Biohacking tools and tricks that actually work for increasing testosterone…40:51

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

Red Light or Low-Lever Laser Therapy

Nick Delgado Protocol

Click here for the full written transcript of this podcast episode.

My podcast guest in this episode suffered a stroke when he was 22 years old.

That’s him, at right, in the blue shirt, at age 23 – at 25% body fat and over 210 pounds.

That’s also him, 6 months later, still at age 23, after he dropped 55 pounds of fat and weighed in at 160 pounds.

And finally that’s also him now, at age 60 in January 2014, after adding muscle from his 20’s to weigh in at 184 pounds.

So how did this all happen?

His stroke actually set him down a path that would change his life forever. Within 5 months, he had dropped those 55 pounds, lowered his blood pressure from 200/90 to 110/70, and began developing the anti-aging system and five age defying techniques that we talk about in today’s podcast.

At age 53, using his own techniques from his anti-aging protocol, he has now shattered the world endurance record for most pounds lifted overhead in an hour (53,640 pounds). And now he plans to break the record for aging.

His name is Nick Delgado, and in this amazing audio episode, we delve into hormones, hypoxia, nutrient density, fats and oils, trampolining, telomere testing, and much much more.
